One of Greenville Illinois best kept secrets is GOVERNOR BOND LAKE. Built in the late 1960's for Greenville’s water supply, the lake was named for the first Governor of Illinois, SHADRACH BOND. Located northeast of Greenville in Bond County, the approximate 775 acre lake offers a vast array of recreational activities such as Fishing, Skiing, Jet Skiing, and Boating. Lots of "city owned" lake frontage helps to protect the gorgeous terrain along the lake perimeter which gives shelter to all types of wildlife. The lake, itself, is stocked full of catfish, bass, crappie, and bluegill. The homes along the shoreline range from "the old family farm" to magnificent estate homes. In our 14 plus years in business, we have acquired a vast knowledge of the lake and have listed and sold more than our share of lake homes and lakefront lots.
